We have two churches in Guatemala, located about 125 miles northeast of Guatemala City. These churches are in the cities of Zacapa and Piedras Azulas. These churches are led by Pastor Salomon Archila. The services in these two churches are attended predominantly by children and young people. We are working with the children and youth in the hope and prayer that they will develop into the future leaders of the churches in their communities and in the outlying villages, and the future of their country!
Mission trips to Guatemala are conducted on a bi-monthly basis. In addition to the two churches, mission work is done in outlying villages and at churches with whom we've built relations with over the past years.
We have been traveling to Guatemala, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over 30 years. Just in the last 5 years have we started bringing larger groups of youth to do outreach to the young people in Guatemala. There have been about 8 youth trips since the first in 2000. The groups have done many different things, including:
- Construction work on churches and houses.
- Distributing many bags of clothes and medicine.
- Dental crusade to treat those who can't afford to go to the dentist and to teach them how to brush their teeth.
- Medical care for the poor.
- Ministry to the children in many villages.
